TRIO ZELIHA
Winner of the Second Prize at the prestigious “Premio Trio di Trieste” International Chamber Music Competition 2024, Trio Zeliha was born from the artistic partnership of violinist Galy Manon, cellist Maxime Quennesson, and pianist Jorge Gonzalez Buajasan. Each member is a laureate of major international competitions such as the Clara Haskil, KlavierOlymp Bad Kissingen, Jascha Heifetz, Ginette Neveu, Barsbash Bach, and Louis Rosor competitions. The ensemble quickly established itself on the international chamber music scene. In 2021, Buajasan and Manon won First Prize and all Special Prizes at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition, while in 2022 Manon was named “Révélation” at the Victoires de la Musique Classique. Committed to a wide-ranging and refined repertoire, Trio Zeliha has performed at major festivals such as La Roque d’Anthéron, Rocamadour, Berlioz, Les Folles Journées (Nantes and Tokyo), Rencontres Musicales d’Évian, Festival de Pâques d’Aix-en-Provence, and Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, among others. Among their frequent performances is Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, played with distinguished orchestras such as the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire under Gábor Takács-Nagy, and on tour with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne alongside Renaud Capuçon, one of their closest artistic collaborators. In January 2025, the Trio will make its debut with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Bertrand de Billy. Their debut recording (Mirare, 2019) received high praise from Menahem Pressler and Alfred Brendel, earning 5 Diapasons, 5 Classica stars, and Gramophone’s “Editor’s Choice” distinction. Their second album, released in May 2024 (Mirare), dedicated to Schubert’s and Shostakovich’s Second Trios, was equally praised by the press, receiving 5 Classica stars, 4T from Télérama, and Laure Mézan’s Choice from Pianiste magazine. After studies with Claire Désert, Trio Wanderer, François Salque, and Luc-Marie Aguera, Trio Zeliha is currently further developing its artistry at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo, one of Europe’s leading centers for advanced musical training. The Trio is supported by Beau Soir Production, founded and directed by Renaud Capuçon, and is ensemble-in-residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation. Individually, the three musicians are laureates of the Banque Populaire, Safran, and Charles Foundations, confirming their recognition as leading young artists on the European music scene.
