LUIGI CARROCCIA
Described by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram as an aristocrat of the piano, Luigi Carroccia has won numerous prizes in national and international competitions. Among them are the Virtuoso Prize at the Vendome Piano Prize held during the Verbier Festival 2019, the Second Abbado Prize organized by the MIUR in memory of C. Abbado, and a medal in Kyustendil for his performances of works by A. Scriabin. He has taken part in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, the Ferruccio Busoni in Bolzano and the Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Warsaw, where he received great critical acclaim and enthusiastic appreciation from musicians such as K. Zimerman and M. Argerich. Carroccia completed his studies at the Conservatorio “C. Monteverdi” in Bolzano, obtaining both the traditional Diploma and the Second Level Academic Diploma in Piano Performance with highest honors, distinction and special mention. In 2016 he received a Junior Fellowship from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and from 2018 to 2022 he was Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo. Regularly invited to perform at festivals such as the Duszniki International Chopin Piano Festival, the Miami International Piano Festival, the Dresdner Musikfestspiele and the LacMus Festival, his concert activity has taken him throughout Italy and abroad, performing in venues such as the Ishibashi Memorial Hall of the University of Tokyo, Flagey in Brussels, Symphony Hall and Town Hall in Birmingham, the Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro alla Scala Museum in Milan, Salle Bourgie in Montreal and the Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
