The choir is composed of Slovenian and Italian singers from different regions, both near and far. Winner of numerous competitions in Italy and abroad, VIKRA regularly collaborates as a workshop choir in choral seminars and organizes masterclasses with renowned artists. In 2021, in collaboration with the Pinacoteca di Brera, the choir recorded the operetta Fischreise by Andrea Melis, inspired by the eponymous children’s story by Tom Seidmann-Freud. In 2022, it won the Grand Prix at the C. A. Seghizzi International Choral Competition in Gorizia, taking home all categories in which it competed. In 2023, the choir performed the Concert of Remembrance dedicated to Boris Pahor, receiving critical acclaim and audience acclaim; the event was subsequently repeated at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste and the Kulturni Dom in Nova Gorica. The choir performs regularly in Ljubljana at prestigious national concert seasons. In 2024, it will be featured in a concert in Sarajevo by invitation of the UNFPA and the Italian and Slovenian embassies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Members of the VIKRA Chamber Choir also collaborate with several prestigious choirs across Europe.
