For over twenty-five years, the QUARTETTO \u0160KAMPA <\/strong>has been one of the most refined chamber ensembles representing Czech musical culture in concert halls around the world. Through their mentors\u2014the legendary members of the Smetana Quartet\u2014the \u0160kampa Quartet traces its roots back to the great traditions of early string quartets, including the Bohemian Quartet. To this inherited musical legacy, the ensemble has added a deeply personal interpretative approach, shaped by a profound understanding of folk songs, dances, and rhythmic patterns from which Czech musical tradition developed. This artistic vision is exemplified in their benchmark recordings of works by Jan\u00e1\u010dek and, in particular, Smetana, which have become reference interpretations. The results of this interpretative research are also evident in their recordings devoted to the Moravian roots of Jan\u00e1\u010dek\u2019s musical language, produced in collaboration with singer Iva Bittov\u00e1, and widely acclaimed beyond national borders. Awards at major international competitions, prizes bestowed by the Royal Philharmonic Society, and their appointment as quartet-in-residence at Wigmore Hall\u2014the first string quartet ever to hold such a position in the history of this renowned British institution\u2014have further consolidated the ensemble\u2019s international standing. The \u0160kampa Quartet is regularly invited to leading international festivals, including the Prague Spring, Schwetzingen, Edinburgh, Schleswig-Holstein, and Melbourne. These artistic opportunities have also led to collaborations with distinguished musicians such as Michael Tan, Itamar Golan, Josef Suk, Michael Collins, Kathryn Stott, and Janine Jansen, among others. Since the early years of its activity, the quartet has cultivated a close relationship with BBC Radio 3, which has produced numerous recordings from Wigmore Hall, St John\u2019s Smith Square, and the BBC Proms. The ensemble has received awards from the Supraphon label, and its live recordings from Wigmore Hall have been selected for release by Wigmore Hall Live. Teaching has always played a central role in the quartet\u2019s artistic mission: the \u0160kampa Quartet has been invited to teach at numerous international institutions, most notably at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where it has served as Visiting Professor of Chamber Music.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
