Described by Sir James Galway as \u00abone of the brightest stars in the flute world\u00bb, ANDREA OLIVA<\/strong> has been Principal Flute of the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome since 2003. Born in Modena, he pursued advanced studies with teachers including C. Montafia, M. Marasco, G. Cambursano, M. Hasel, A. Blau and Sir James Galway. A former member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Claudio Abbado, Seiji Ozawa and Pierre Boulez, he was invited to serve as Guest Principal Flute with the Berlin Philharmonic at the age of just 23. He won First Prize at the Kobe International Flute Competition in 2005 and Third Prize at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 2004. His concert activity has taken him to major venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall, the KKL Lucerne and the Palau de la M\u00fasica in Valencia. Andrea Oliva has collaborated with conductors including Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Kirill Petrenko, Antonio Pappano, Myung-Whun Chung, Manfred Honeck and Bernard Haitink. In 2025 he appeared as soloist in Mozart\u2019s Sinfonia Concertante, conducted by Kirill Petrenko in Rome and at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He is the founder of the Santa Cecilia Wind Quintet and I Cameristi di Santa Cecilia, with whom he performs regularly throughout Europe. He is Professor at the University of Music of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano and Visiting Professor at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. His recordings for Hyperion, Sony, Decca, Aulicus Classics and Da Vinci Records have received international acclaim. He is Artistic Director of the \u201cGabriele Betti\u201d and \u201cConrad Klemm\u201d International Competitions and, since 2025, a member of the Board of Directors of the Orchestra Sinfonica d\u2019Este in Ferrara.

GIAMPAOLO BANDINI<\/strong>, a Decca recording artist, is widely regarded as one of Italy\u2019s leading guitarists on the international scene. In recent years, he has also devoted himself to orchestral conducting, leading major orchestras in Italy and abroad. He regularly appears at the world\u2019s most prestigious festivals and concert halls, spanning Europe, the United States, Africa, Asia and South America, including Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall in New York and the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. He has toured in over 50 countries worldwide, performing both as a soloist and with leading international orchestras. In 2011, the Scientific Committee of the Alessandria Convention awarded him the prestigious Chitarra d\u2019Oro<\/em> for his contribution to the promotion and dissemination of the guitar worldwide. In 2022, he received two further Chitarra d\u2019Oro<\/em> awards: one for Teaching and one for Best Recording of the Year (Castelnuovo-Tedesco: Complete Chamber Works<\/em>, Decca). Bandini collaborates with artists of the highest calibre, including Salvatore Accardo, Avi Avital, Massimo Quarta, Andrea Oliva, Enrico Bronzi, Danilo Rossi, Corrado Giuffredi and Marco Pierobon, as well as with actors and performers such as Sergio Rubini, Elio, Monica Guerritore and Amanda Sandrelli. His discography includes the debut album Escualo<\/em> (2017), recorded in duo with Cesare Chiacchiaretta for Decca Classics, followed by Intimate Paganini<\/em> (2020), recorded on Niccol\u00f2 Paganini\u2019s own guitar, Tango y Folia<\/em>, and the complete chamber works for guitar by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (2021). Deeply committed to teaching, Giampaolo Bandini gives masterclasses and advanced courses worldwide. He holds the guitar professorship at the \u201cBoccherini\u201d Institute of Higher Musical Education in Lucca and is regularly invited as guest lecturer for the second-level Master\u2019s programme at the \u201cA.
