FEDERICO MONDELCI <\/h4>\n

For over thirty years, FEDERICO MONDELCI <\/strong>has been one of the most distinguished and widely admired performers on the international music scene. A graduate in saxophone from the Conservatory of Pesaro, he also studied singing, composition and orchestral conducting before completing his advanced studies at the Bordeaux Conservatoire Sup\u00e9rieur under Jean-Marie Londeix, graduating unanimously with a Gold Medal. Mondelci has pursued an international career alongside orchestras such as the Filarmonica della Scala under Seiji Ozawa, the Moscow Soloists with Yuri Bashmet, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and the BBC Philharmonic, performing on major stages throughout Europe, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. His repertoire extends far beyond the historical canon and is particularly focused on contemporary music, including works by Luigi Nono, Giya Kancheli, Philip Glass, Franco Donatoni, Salvatore Sciarrino, Giacinto Scelsi, Carlo Angelo Cugini Gentilucci, Graham Fitkin and Nicola Piovani. He has premiered numerous works written especially for him, achieving outstanding success. He has recorded the solo repertoire with orchestra for Delos and Chandos, as well as numerous recordings devoted to contemporary music, including an RCA album dedicated to Italian composers and a monographic recording of works by Giacinto Scelsi, which received the Diapason d\u2019Or<\/em>. Federico Mondelci has collaborated with composers such as Philip Glass, Giya Kancheli, Luciano Berio, Giacinto Scelsi, Michael Nyman, Franco Donatoni, Henri Pousseur and Graham Fitkin. Alongside his acclaimed career as a soloist, he has developed an increasingly significant career as a conductor, achieving success with prominent soloists including Ilya Grubert, Michael Nyman, Kathryn Stott, Pavel Vernikov, Nelson Goerner, Francesco Manara, Natalia Gutman and Luisa Castellani. Founder of the Italian Saxophone Quartet and the Italian Saxophone Orchestra, he performs regularly with both ensembles in Italy and abroad, to great critical and public acclaim. His appearances as soloist and conductor include performances with the Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala, the New Zealand<\/p>\n

I VIRTUOSI ITALIANI<\/h4>\n

Founded in 1989, I VIRTUOSI ITALIANI<\/strong> is one of the most active and distinguished ensembles on the international music scene. The ensemble has performed in the world\u2019s leading theatres and concert institutions, both in Italy and abroad, including Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Dal Verme and Sala Verdi in Milan, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro La Fenice, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Teatro Regio di Parma, the Arena di Verona, the Unione Musicale di Torino and the Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti in Rome. Among their most significant engagements are a Concert for the Italian Senate and the Concert for Life and Peace<\/em>, performed in Rome, Bethlehem and Jerusalem and broadcast worldwide by RAI. From 2011 to 2024, I Virtuosi Italiani served as ensemble in residence with their own concert season in Venice at the Church of the Ospedale della Piet\u00e0. Recently, Arte Concert Klassik recorded a live performance by I Virtuosi Italiani with soloist Wayne Marshall at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, commemorating the 1600th anniversary of the founding of Venice. The ensemble has also undertaken extensive international tours to France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Slovenia, Russia, Iran, Korea, the United States and the Baltic countries. Their discography is exceptionally extensive, with over 100 CDs recorded for major international labels and more than 500,000 copies sold worldwide. In September 2018, Deutsche Grammophon released a recording devoted to the music of Morten Lauridsen, which received a nomination for the 2019 Opus Klassik Awards, Germany\u2019s most prestigious classical music prize. In December 2021, I Virtuosi Italiani were awarded the Diapason d\u2019Or de l\u2019Ann\u00e9e 2021<\/em> for the Warner Classics\u2013Erato recording Amici & Rivali<\/em>, conducted by Corrado Rovaris and featuring tenors Lawrence Brownlee and Michael Spyres. Abbiamo festeggiato il nostro trentennale di attivit\u00e0 in anni difficili per tutti e molto difficili per i teatri e per chi ci lavora. Bonawentura\/Teatro Miela, per\u00f2, \u00e8 sempre stato un posto di sogni realizzati fin dalla sua fondazione nel lontano 1990.<\/p>\n

Il sogno del Miela di oggi \u00e8 in fondo lo stesso di allora, ma da perseguire con ancora maggiore determinazione: raccogliere una comunit\u00e0 sempre pi\u00f9 ampia di spettatori che cercano svago e divertimento e che vogliono anche partecipare al dibattito culturale e civile della citt\u00e0 e del nostro Paese. Lo facciamo e lo faremo con le nostre produzioni, con gli spettacoli ospiti, con incontri e dibattiti e con tutto ci\u00f2 che \u2013 anche sul lato pi\u00f9 bizzarro e spiazzante delle proposte \u2013 ha sempre contraddistinto il Miela come rifugio sicuro di ogni navigazione artistica.<\/p>\n
