DANUSHA WASKIEWICZ
Born in Würzburg, Germany, in 1973, DANUSHA WASKIEWICZ began studying the violin at the age of six and the viola at ten. From 1994 to 1999 she studied with Tabea Zimmermann. Winner of the ARD International Music Competition in Munich and of the German Viola Society Competition (Die Deutsche Violagesellschaft), she served as Principal Viola of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra from 1999 to 2004. Throughout her professional career, she has taken part in numerous projects and collaborations, including those with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. From 2004, at the invitation of Claudio Abbado, she was Principal Viola of the Orchestra Mozart in Bologna, with which she recorded Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Deutsche Grammophon in 2007. In October 2009, she appeared as soloist in the Austrian premiere of Benjamin Yusupov’s Viola Tango Rock Concerto, conducted by Diego Matheuz. As a chamber musician, she has performed with many distinguished artists, including Edicson Ruiz, Patrick Demenga, Hagai Shaham, Georg Faust, Guy Braunstein, Francesco Senese and Patrizio Serino, as well as with the Henschel Quartet and Camerata Bern. She gives masterclasses in Bologna and is a member of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, in addition to being a permanent member of the Prometeo Quartet.
ANDREA REBAUDENGO
ANDREA REBAUDENGO was born in Pesaro in 1972. He studied piano with Paolo Bordoni, Lazar Berman, Alexander Lonquich and Andrzej Jasiński, and composition with Danilo Lorenzini. In 1998 he won First Prize at the Pescara International Piano Competition, followed by Third Prize at the Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau in 2000. He has performed at leading concert institutions and festivals throughout Italy, across Europe and in the Americas. His repertoire is exceptionally wide, with a particular focus on music of the last hundred years. He is the pianist of the ensemble Sentieri Selvaggi, with which he regularly appears at major Italian and European festivals. He frequently collaborates with outstanding musicians such as Danusha Waskiewicz, Cristina Zavalloni, Klaidi Sahatci, Fabien Thouand and Simone Beneventi. He is also the pianist of Solo Goldberg Improvisation, a project with choreographer Virgilio Sieni. Andrea Rebaudengo teaches at the Milan Conservatory and gives seminars at the Conservatory of Lugano.
