AXEL TROLESE

«Axel Trolese is one of those pianists of the new generation who give us hope—not only because of his extraordinary technical mastery, but above all for his rounded, passionate approach to music and art».

AXEL TROLESE’s concert career began in 2015 with his victory at the Premio Casella of the Premio Venezia, followed by numerous performances and a recording debut in 2016 with the complete Études by Claude Debussy. Subsequent distinctions include the “Giuseppe Sinopoli” Scholarship awarded by the Presidency of the Italian Republic, the Grand Prix Alain Marinaro, and the Concorso Pozzoli. He has worked closely with musicians such as Louis Lortie, Benedetto Lupo, Maurizio Baglini, Denis Pascal, and Edoardo Torbianelli, and studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Alongside his activity as a modern pianist, Trolese also performs on fortepiano and historical keyboards. A passionate advocate of Spanish music, he has recorded the complete Iberia by Isaac Albéniz in two albums for Da Vinci Classics, together with works by de Falla, Turina, Ravel, and Mompou. He has also recorded, in duo with pianist Luigi Carroccia, an album dedicated to Liszt’s Dante Symphony and Les Préludes, to be released by NovAntiqua Records. Axel Trolese has performed throughout Europe, the Americas, and Asia in major venues and festivals including the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Teatro La Fenice, Salle Cortot, Flagey, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Keyboard Trust, the Millennium Concert Hall in Beijing, the Quirinale, Società del Quartetto di Milano, Ravenna Festival, Musica Insieme, Bechstein Hall, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Festival delle Nazioni, the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen, Weimarhalle, and the Fazioli Concert Hall. His concerts and recordings are regularly broadcast by France Musique, BBC Radio 3, WWFM New York, and Swiss Radio (RSI).
