EVGENY KONNOV
Born in 1992 in Chirchiq, Uzbekistan, EVGENY KONNOV, pursued a path of musical excellence under the guidance of distinguished teachers including G. F. Schenk, E. Rubinova, J. G. Jiracek von Arnim, A. Mamriev and C. Hammer. His rigorous training and innate musical sensitivity have led him to become one of the most award-winning pianists of his generation, having won First Prize in more than thirty major international competitions. Among these are the 64th Maria Canals International Music Competition in Barcelona, the 14th UNISA International Piano Competition in Pretoria, the 31st Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition in Seregno, the 18th Compositores de España International Piano Competition in Madrid, and, in 2024, the 12th International Piano Competition of Verona. He has performed in some of the world’s most important concert halls. In Spain, these include the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, the Palau de la Música Catalana and L’Auditori in Barcelona, as well as other renowned venues such as the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao and the Auditorio de Tenerife. In South Africa, he has appeared at the Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg and the Playhouse in Durban, while in Germany he performed at the Gasteig in Munich. His concert activity has also taken him to emblematic venues such as the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, Casa da Música in Porto, the Salle Cortot in Paris, Teatro Dal Verme in Milan and the Konzerthaus in Vienna, as well as to Belgium, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Malta, Uzbekistan and Morocco. Konnov has collaborated with leading orchestras and internationally renowned conductors, including the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid under J. Mena, the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra conducted by L. González-Granados, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra with Harth-Bedoya, and the Mihail Jora Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacău. Further collaborations include the Arena di Verona Foundation and the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra. Numerous recordings and interviews featuring Konnov have been broadcast by major media outlets such as BBC Radio, RTBF Auvio, D Major TV, Rai 3, Russia Culture and Radio Romania Musical, reaching a wide international audience. Since 2024, Evgeny Konnov has been a piano professor at the University of Augsburg, at the prestigious Leopold Mozart College of Music. Alongside his teaching activity, he regularly gives masterclasses in several countries, including Spain, Germany and South Africa.
